Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Sevn is an AI study assistant for IB students. This policy sets out what information we collect, how we use it, and the control you have over it. We have written it to be clear rather than exhaustive.

Who we are. Sevn is an independent, non-commercial study aid. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by the International Baccalaureate Organization or any examination board.

What we collect. We collect only what is needed to run Sevn: your name and email at sign-up (including through Google), the details you provide during onboarding (your subjects, year group, and study preferences), your conversations with Sevn, and basic technical data such as the pages you visit and your approximate device type.

Your conversations. Sevn works by processing what you write. When you message Sevn, your messages are sent to the AI providers that power it, currently Anthropic and OpenAI, so that a response can be generated, and your conversations are stored so Sevn can remember your progress across sessions. These providers process your messages solely to operate the project and, under our agreement with them, do not use your Sevn conversations to train their public models. By using Sevn, you consent to this processing.

What we do not do. We do not sell your personal information, to advertisers or to anyone else. Your data is used to operate and improve Sevn, and for no other purpose.

Who else processes it. We rely on a small number of trusted providers: Supabase (accounts and database), Vercel (hosting and basic analytics), the AI providers named above. There is no payment processor, because Sevn takes no payments. Each handles your data only to perform its function for us.

Users under 18. Sevn is created for IB students, many of whom are under 18. If you are under 18, you may use Sevn only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and by using it you confirm you have that consent. Sevn is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly register them. A parent or guardian may contact us at any time to review or delete their child’s information.

Retention and deletion. We retain your information while your account is active. You may delete your account, or ask us to delete your data, at any time, and we will do so promptly, except where we are legally required to retain certain records.

Security. We protect your information with appropriate safeguards, including encryption in transit and per-user access controls on our database. No online project can promise perfect security, but we treat yours seriously.

Cookies. We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in and to understand basic usage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes. We may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the date above, and we will notify you within the app where the change is significant.
